Description
Early in the history of Ditpyque, the boutique on Boulevard Saint Germain offered fans the tissues of their creation of beautiful objects, three colognes, scented candles and some several medleys of flowers, produced in the purest English tradition by a friend of the house: Dido Merwin. This is raising her hands to her face, one day she came to pick the currants for her jams and bouquets of roses for her, that Dido was assailed by the smell of these impressive plants and two together. Poetically named L'Ombre dans l'Eau, smell evokes a lush garden at the water's edge and a snapshot of life. Green leaves crunching blackcurrant, fruity generosity of old roses, despite its apparent simplicity, this fragrance is built on a progression in which the two millimeter main notes fit together in perfect harmony. A rustic and start fusing after the sap of the blackcurrant leaf and blackcurrant buds, plant very, very green, bergamot and mandarin - two tangy citrus and shrapnel - are felt and just soften the bitterness generated by the blackcurrant . Then appears the Bulgarian Rose (Rosa Damascena) fresh in its most natural, dense, faceted, heady. This fragrance surprised by this unexpected agreement which gives it great naturalness. The approach of the perfumer: More Rose version is still Eau de Parfum. A Rose generous, sensual, almost intoxicating hatched in the cool of the stems, moss, tart at a time.

Diptyque
Diptyque was founded in 1961 by three friends who had been trained at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and in house decoration, Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Gautrot and Yves Coueslant. They first produced their own printed fabrics and then began importing to Paris the most renowned English perfumes. In 1963 Diptyque started producing a series of scented candles which soon gained world-wide fame. In 1968 Diptyque produced its first toilet water, l'EAU, based on a XVIth century pot pourri and clove pomander recipe. This was to be followed by other creations, which came as toilet water or soap as well as a rare and sophisticated toilet vinegar. Boxes in a sober design with elegant lettering and stylish drawings at the unmistakable hallmark of Diptyque products.
